Position DescriptionThe Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month Assistant Professors of Practice in Kinesiology positions to begin September 1, 2024. The duty point (residence) for faculty to be hired will be Lubbock, even though courses will be taught online.

Position Description
The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for two full-time, 9-month Assistant Professors of Practice in Kinesiology positions to begin September 1, 2024. The duty point (residence) for faculty to be hired will be Lubbock, even though courses will be taught online.

Major/Essential Functions

Teach four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester of a variety of undergraduate kinesiology online courses.
Participate in teaching workshops offered by the Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development Center at Texas Tech University to enhance instructional abilities.
Contribute to the mission of the department as a colleague.

Required Qualifications
In line with TTUs strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants must have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate graduate level within or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service. Additional required qualifications are:

Minimum of masters degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or directly related field.
Online teaching experience in at least two of these undergraduate kinesiology courses: advanced strength and conditioning, anatomical kinesiology, applied exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, exercise and sport psychology, exercise testing and prescription, medical terminology, motor development, motor learning, and physiological application of nutrition to exercise and physical activity.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

An earned doctoral degree in kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, or directly related field.
Multiple years of teaching online undergraduate kinesiology courses.
